Marelec Food Technologies, founded in 1983, designs and manufactures high-tech portioning, weighing, grading and control systems, for the fishing and the food industry to optimize the efficiency of the manufacturing process.

The company’s expansive capabilities are showcased at their manufacturing hub in Nieuwpoort, Belgium which houses their R&D center and cooled demo room. Marelec has sales and service centers throughout Europe, the United States and Asia, along with a powerhouse network of distributors across six continents.

Marelec serves the poultry, meat, seafood and marine sectors, designing and manufacturing innovative turnkey systems that ensure high-quality output and maximum yield for food processors around the world and in over 50 countries.

In 2022 Marelec Food Technologies was acquired by Duravant LLC, a global engineered equipment and automation solutions provider to the food processing, packaging and material handling sectors.

Challenges

Current Supply Chain Manager left the company and had to be replaced by a temporary Supply Chain Manager who, on the one hand, needed to secure continuity and on the other hand further supervise the implementation of the new ERP package (IFS) on the Supply Chain level.

Essensys provided a seasoned temporary Supply Chain Manager, well-equipped to tackle the project at hand and coach the team throughout the implementation of the new ERP package.
Our temporary manager successfully guided the local Supply Chain team and ensured that at the end of the assignment, a smooth knowledge transfer and hand-over was taken care of, thus facilitating an effective and efficient start for the new incoming Supply Chain Manager.
