When the organization’s management contacted Essensys, the business was going through a reorganization process. This led to frequent interruptions in production. Performance issues concerning maintenance needed investigation and further addressing. An Executive Interim Manager was brought on board to instigate and execute the change management process.
To improve operational excellence on the workfloor and boost performance, Essensys’ Interim Executive Eric D. executed on a number of key areas:
- Optimization of team structure by phasing out redundant coordinating positions and reinforcing technical expertise,
- Creating awareness of individual and team responsibilities and introduction of regular updating of documentation databases,
- Optimization of daily stand-up meetings,
- Communications & consultation track for improved alignment between maintenance department and other business units.
The Essensys Interim Executive Manager laid the foundations for improvements in structure, communication, awareness and sense of responsibility within the revamped maintenance department. This would prove to be an ideal starting position for the full-time Maintenance Manager that was appointed upon completion of the transformation track.
